Couldn't help but Notice that the Hawks (for the first time in a while if not ever) will be sending 3 players all of which were voted as starters to the All star game. Campbell - Toews and Kane........

those 3 plus Rose have chicago looking to a bright future

Hate to tell you but the starters are more of a popularity contest then actual performance. As 4 teams make up all the starters on both squads.

West
3 Ducks and 3 Hawks

East
2 Pens (who deserve to go as Malkin and Crosby are 1 and 2 in the lg. in scoring)
4 Montreal players

The Hawks do got a bright future but as the starters in all-star go you cant base nothing on that.

tru but just glad to see that when it comes to hockey that Chicago is now a factor. Somebody had to vote for these guys. Have to go back to the Chelios - Roenick - Bellfore days to actually remember when the hawks were good........not sure ralph was even born jajaja

Well on to round two for the young hawks and after a tough 0-3 hole they managed to tie the game only to blow it 5-3. Games 2 they trailed 0-2 before scoring 6 to take the game 6-2. Game 3 tomorrow night and game 4 Danza will attend to lead the hawks on to victory. First hockey game in 10yrs so lets make it count.

I think its safe to say that next year NHL will replace NBA for me.

SteelCity with Malkin and Crosby to take on Danza with Kane and Toews............whats crazy is that the best player on the Hawks may be infact this years breakout rookie Versteeg

I would love a Pens vs. Hawks matchup

But the Hawks first got to worry about a great Detroit club.

The Bullin Wall needs to be great and I just dont think he is a good enough goalie with all the shots Detroit puts on a team. The Blackhawks remind me of last year Pens team. Hawks just need to play fast and hit hard.

May 27th and the Hawks played thier last game of the season......what a year it has been for Chicago Hockey. This might signal the switch from NBA to NHL. That save by Christobal Huet with 20sec to go was classic, but Detroit is just to friggin good. Hoping the Pens can upset them and shut them up but the more i watch those guys play the better they seem.

Detroit is the favorite but the more I study the matchup the more I think Pittsburgh has a serious shot to win the cup this year. Without going into too much detail.
1. The system: Last year the Pens were a defensive minded team that sat back and let Detroit pick them apart. This year they have an attacking system that puts ton of pressure on the D and has there D moving forward instead of backing all the way up to our own net.

2. Malkin and Crosby: These two are playing at an unbelievable level. Hell I dont even know if Malkin made the trip to the cup finals. This year he is playing better than anyone in the league except for maybe his teammate Crosby. These two have taken there game to a level only Ovechkin has a chance to reach.

3. Schedule and injuries: Detroit is banged up and are going to have to deal with the Pens up-tempo game 2 nights in a row. If we can split in Detroit we got a shot.

I know the Hawks were high scores this year but watching other playoff series ive not seen one team play at as high tempo as the Pens do when they are on there game.

GO PENS

I hate the Wings so i hope the PENS can get it done man, I recall a few months back when the Pens were like the 11th seed in the conference and then they caught fire and never looked back. Detroit does have some injuries and are an older team but damn they looked faster and bigger then just about every Hawk but most of them are under 25 lol. Alexander the Great Ovechkin is a BEAST!!!!! PENS FTW?
