What type router do you all use?
Lately my NAT has been switching to Moderate and i think thats why i am not able to connect with you guys once in a while. Mostly Toran and Jay. Is there a quick fix or do i need to invest in a new one?
Re: What type router do you all use?
had a dlink for about 5 years....pretty good, but i heard Lynksys has better customer service...so i decided to give that a try.

Re: What type router do you all use?
I'm using the same Lynksys router i had back in the xbox days so its prob close to 8yrs old now. Still kickin but not sure why i am having the moderate NAT istead of OPEN.
Don't wanna drop $100 on the wireless adaptor either.........like how PS3 and Wii both have it build in

Bro.....you da man
IF YOU DONT HAVE A MICROSOFT CERTIFIED ROUTER OR GATEWAY! (and to get an desirable OPEN NAT)
1. The first thing you must do is make sure that UPnP is enabled. This stands for Universal Plug and Play (used for gaming the most)
2. Since you don’t have a Microsoft certified router or gateway you need to go to the Port forwarding option and make sure the following setting are in.
UDP 88
UDP 3074
TCP 3074
This will make sure you router (In my case) has all ports open when connecting to Xbox 360 live so that you get an OPEN NAT. Just an FYI I am using a Linksys WRT54gx version 2 router (Not Cert. by Microsoft)

Re: What type router do you all use?
glad that helped...i was looking for some help with my router and came across for so much crap..i remember reading something about NAT so i knew there was a resolution...
danza, funny enough...i think i bought the same router you have, just the updated version...cost like $60 including shipping...i guess im going to have to follow those steps you posted..

Re: What type router do you all use?
yea from what i'm reading they say thats the best one to get for the price. I know talking to Toran and Toran Law they had the same issues and were able to go to the routers website i think and set it up that way. I will try the mess around with the settings that are listed above and see what happens.
According to the above i should be able to connect to anyone who is not Strict....perhaps its not my router but i still want it to read open.
